You can, but it can be problematic. Vinegar eels hang out at the water surface, while baby axies are usually at the bottom.

Microworms are better than vinegar eels, but nowhere near as good as baby brine shrimp. I get much better growth rates with bbs.

Yeah BBS are great. I prefer Daphnia to keep the water quality up:
