Hi, nice to see a video of your axolotl. A couple of things I would like to add, Please don't see them as criticisms more as friendly advice.
You could try adding another bigger hide for your axie. He looks a little exposed even though he hides beneath your Branch? decorations. They do like to be able to hide their whole body sometimes.
Another point is his gills appear to be pointing forward which can be an indicator of stress. Possible causes of this are too much water flow, water condition not ideal or you poking around his tank with that forky thing lol.

Yeha thats cool:)
I planetd the tank up a bit so he hides in the plants too now.
I put a post on the sick axie thing about his gills not long ago. Thats being sorted he dont like the filter much. Ive pointed it towards the wall so thaeres less current. Hes gotta new air stone in today too which may help with the oxygen levels a bit coz they were a little low.

Did a water change today too. Resonably big one.
Tho hes never been that bnothered with current i think its more the water than anything :) Hopefully sorted :D

Oh yeah and the pokey thing lol he never fnds the fod if i don't take it to him ahha hopefuly getting some big tweezers to give him the food soon ^_^

Have you tried him with live food?
He should be able to spot something wriggly.

Good plan what do you sujest?

Earthworms. My axolotl loves them. I throw them in front of her and the wriggling soon gets her attention. She takes quite large ones, but you can cut yours in half if they are too large. They will be still wriggly a bit after being cut. Try some live bloodworm too.

Earth worms?! really?! wow ahha i had food for him in my back garden the whole time LOL.

Other than wash the worms do i do anything else with them?

I always feed my axie earthworms whenever possible, but I also have to wiggle them in front of her face with tweezers otherwise she can't find them. I have had way too many worms drown and get all yucky and gross because Squish floats around and can't seem to figure out where the food is. So I totally understand the big pokey thing lol

Dig them up, wash off any dirt, throw them in one at a time. Watch your axolotl stalk the worm, catch it, eat it and gulp. Then off you go again. My axolotl ate 3 good sized worms today in the space of 5 minutes. She is recovering from illness so I'm feeding her daily but this will reduce to every other day once her tummy starts getting fatter.

I put the worm in the tank and watch and if the axolotl doesn't eat it then I take the worm out to keep it from drowning then put it back closer to the axie.It is quite interesting watching the axie stalk the worm ,and it never gets old:happy:

OOoooohhh! How often do you feed them earth worms? Same as blood worm?

I feed them earth worms along with blood worms every 3 days:D

Hello, just to butt in on this thread........I was told by the worm breeder where I get my worms from that earthworms can't drown. When you see worms dead in puddles it's because over-exposure to light, perhaps it's the same in aquariums? I leave worms in the bottom of the tank for my axies to find sometimes (when they are hiding and don't want to be hand-fed) and the worms always seem to keep wriggling, though admittedly thay don't last long!

I am not an expert on worms:cool:but I have read before that worms breath thrugh there skin so the drown just like we do but they do last quite long under water untill they die.:kill:

I just tried moomin with some earth worm and he loved them!!! Not quite sure what to do with the huge one i dug up tho :S i gave him the 2 tiny ones. Do i have to cut the big one in half?

LMAO i tried putting the bif worm in whole haha you should see Moomin tryin to work out how to eat it HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Yes you can cut it in half or even thirds if you have too.

How hard are they to cut in half!! I might use scissors next time:p
