Hey folks, just wanted to share a video of my mudpuppy with you. I collected him a month or so ago (legally) and he's quickly become my favorite salamander. They tame up a lot faster than I thought. He now begs worse than any axolotl or tiger salamander, which is what he's doing in the video.

Right now I have a current at the back of the tank from the filter, but I'm considering adding a powerhead to mimic a river more. He's in a 20 long by himself save a few snails that hitched a ride in. He's still a juvenile and is plowing through red wigglers. Let me know what you think, any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.

Thanks!

in college, when i envisioned my natural aquarium, it wasnt for axolotls, it was to have a mudpuppy. i never thought id get a mudpuppy, so i went the axolotl route. eventually, ill get a mudpuppy.

that video is gnarly awesome, jess. thanks for sharing.

How do you feed the red wigglers to the mudpuppy? Do you use a dish or bowl, or just put them in?

Awesome guy! Thats how you do it! Michigan represent! Nothing like a tamed N. maculosus. I love how they beg.

Fantastic specimen. Love to see the community of Michigan residents on this forum : )

Really great setup and beautiful animal! Thanks for sharing!
