How warm is your tank?

Now it 16C, 60.8F. Never been more than 20C.
I have a strong air filter, axie lives one in 50cmx30cmx30cm aquarium. He eats pellets and frozen bloodwarms. That can be bad?

Chances are it's the filter that's causing it. For one, axolotls don't like a strong current. They're from still lakes where there isn't much flow. And for two, having a strong filter increases the level of oxygen in your tank, so your axolotl's gills don't need to be as big to get the required oxygen.

I would consider downgrading your filter. Alternately, you could get a bigger tank. That size tank is a bit on the small side for one axolotl.

Also, I would be pretty wary of the rocks you have in your tank. They can open their mouths pretty wide! You were better off with the sand that you had.

I dont see a big curent, water flowing to aquarium wall.
All rocks are bigger than axie mouth, he cant swollow them.
So, Cllaus is not sick? :happy:

Erm, it might just be a trick of the photo, but the dark pebble at the bottom right looks like it could easily be swallowed + there are others that size too :(

Ih fact, there are 2 in front of the reddish stone on the right which look even smaller. Axies mouths might look small, but if you look at the thread posted by Kaysie, they can open them VERY wide indeed!

I took them out :}
now only big roks in aquarium :)
