Hi, My axies unexpectedly laid eggs Friday night (I thought they were all boys lol). Anyway I ordered brine shrimps eggs straight away and got a new pump so I would have them ready intime for when the little ones hatched. The Axolotl site said 2-3weeks so I assumed I would be more than ready for the little babies. Well I was wrong they have started to hatch today. 6days!! Must be the weather. Anyway I have nothing at all at the minute. Will have to try and get some live brineshrimp but I can't until tomorrow. In the main tank I have seen some of those tiny worms and cyclop things will they be able to eat them till the brine shrimp come. The speed of them growing and hatching has really taken me by surprise.
I honestly thought I would be all set in time. Please could you offer me a bit of advice? Thanks

They usually don't start feeding right away. They hatch with some yolk. If they hatched that fast, they may have come out early, and have even more yolk than usual. My advice is... (1) don't panic, and (2) try to get their temperature lower (for example, keep them on the floor in the coolest room of the house).

Thank you both. I have done that, I had already looked at the site but couldn't see about the worms till just now. I have moved them aswell. Have calmed down abit now too lol.

baby axies need tiny food. if your worms are alive and small enough to fit in their mouth they should eat them. usually 24-72 hours after hatching is when they need to start eating.
