My husband and I received a use aquarium for our tiger salamander. How do I accurately sanitize and clean so that it is safe for him?

I would just spray reptile/amphibian disinfectant on the glass then scrub/dry/wipe it with tissues :)

apart from bleach which can be used don't use any other house hold cleaner ie.. dish soap etc.. as it can leave toxic traces.
bleach can be used, after cleaning fill with water and add dechlorinator, leave 24hrs then empty.
vinegar can be used as can bicarbonate of soda.
hydrogen peroxide can be used.
vodka can also be used.
only use cleaners that will break down harmlessly.
make sure the cleaner is also silicone safe so as not to weaken the tanks seals.

I like to use table salt. It kills bacteria, rinses clean with plenty of water and it is an abrasive for stubborn spots. If tank does have heavy staining I like to use a new razor blade to scrape it off first.
