My 10 month old copper rescue Mocha is in a very bad way. A little over a month ago she had anchor worms so I treated her with salt baths for 5 days and kept her fridged for 3 weeks until I was certain she was free of parasites (she was also healing from an bite from her tankmate). Only a week after that she looked like she may have been developing limb rot on all four legs after what I presume was several bites from her tankmate again. I again fridged her and began treating the possible infection with low doses of Furan-2 for no more than 4 days, although she has remained in the fridge for the past two weeks while I've waited for her injuries to heal more completely. She seemed to be doing very well last week and was alert and eating well while her injuries are close to being healed (the worst bite on her left hind leg still has some missing flesh but is looking far less red and raw). On Sunday I noticed that she seemed uncomfortable and kept pulling her legs underneath her body while acting somewhat lethargic. I figured she was somewhat constipated so decided not to feed her until she pooped.

Today however I took her out of the fridge to check on her and thought she was dead. She was laying on the bottom of the tub on her back and didn't move until I picked her up and began gently rubbing her sides and belly to stimulate her. I changed her water and added an airline into her tub to keep the oxygen levels up and also have removed her from the fridge. She is still incredibly lethargic and constantly turns onto her side and back until I right her while she has been occasionally gaping/gulping as if she either can't get enough air or has air stuck in her belly. Her gills are also very curled forward. She is also continuing to pull her legs underneath her body, especially her back legs while she pulls beneath her cloaca (which seems somewhat swollen though is not discolored).

I have no idea what is wrong with her and am very worried that she may die. The vet out here is pretty useless and has admitted to me that he doesn't know how to treat axolotls, and has also confirmed that there are no other exotic vets in the area who are familiar with amphibians. I am aware of a good exotic vet that is in Draper Utah, over three hours away from where I am in Idaho Falls. I am willing to drive her down if I need to, but I am worried that she may not make it in time.

I'm keeping a very close eye on her today, but if anyone knows how I can help her or what might be wrong then I would SUPER appreciate the help!

Sadly Mocha passed away while I was taking her down to see the vet.
