Hi again,
Just thought I'd post an update on our laoensis. We have about a dozen juveniles so far with about that many eggs that are fertilized and developing. Our females still lay eggs off and on so hopefully we'll have some more. I felt like we were losing a lot initially, like one or two a day, but the number stayed about the same because a couple would hatch every day too. They are eating chopped blackworms (and some whole ones too!) as well as Grindal worms. When they first dropped from the egg I would add several cups of "pond" water (water from a heavily planted tank) daily. There seemed to be plenty of invertebrates in the water for them to eat. They were a bit secretive and it took them a good 10-14 days before I saw them eat. Pictures aren't great. I need to get some with a ruler so people can see the size. These are some of the medium-sized ones. They've been eating for about 2 weeks.

Good luck with them - I think it is so exciting to have this species in the US! Thanks for the update, I look forward to watching their progress and development.
