I'll be getting two juveniles as soon as my tank is done cycling. There are plenty of hides for them, but should I get a divider so they don't bite each other???

If they are both about the same size you shouldn't need a divider. Just try to keep them fed, even feed them a little away from each other so they don't accidentally chomp at what they think is food and find themselves with a mouthful of tank mate.

Enough room and enough food and even a place to hide is all they really want. Accidents do happen but watching them sit on each other, resting face to face or lined up like they are all trying to get the best spot in a car park is priceless.

You can get plastic mesh dividers which would let them be aware of each other but not have the chance to nip. Eventually you could take the divider out. Or just not use one from the start and keep them well fed. The sooner and younger Axolotls are kept together the more likely they will be aware that they are with a tank mate and not mistake it for food. Start feeding them in the same way everyday preferably by hand then they won't be so likely to go for each other. But accidents do happen!

Sorry Renette I started replying without realising you posted already! you covered it all anyways ;)

Good info, thank you!
