It's a terrible day today!
Two hynobiidaes died in the same day.
They were all raised by me from eggs.
I cann't understand why they died so suddenly.
The room temp is 15℃.
I didn't stop feedding,was that reason?Because i found half-diggested earth worm spitting from one's mouth.
There were much excrement in both large intestine(normal?) .
And i found many black dots on both large intestine wall(normal?)
Here are pictures, mybe you can find slues for me.
Thanks so much.

Hi zhanggeer,
Did you feed the same worms to any other animals besides these two? I am not sure about the liver spots, hopefully someone more knowledgeable can comment on this.

How long after they died were these pictures taken? They look bloated.

Hi zhanggeer,

others are normal by now

No idea on a diagnosis, but that is fascinating to see.

Sorry for your loss.

no sign of worm or any infection caused be worms or one cell organisms or viruses, also skin without any sign of infection with fungus or bacteria, liver seems normal, no yellow/brown colour or spots seen with bare eye, but maybe under binocular!?
possibly the black spots on the wall of intestines are some kind of worm infestation.
I send pics to my friend who is a vet, he can see possibly something strange.

check water quality and food quality.
Maybe your worms came from a polluted source and the newts got poisoned!?

my vet says that the black spots at the wall of intestine are pigments (the big dark red mass inside intestine is just digested food).
he can not see any sign of infection or poisoning at liver or intestine, he says everything looks very normal and that you did a good job opening the belly for photo ;)

so the reason of death remains myterious

Hey everyone, just want a little advice. Its 55 - 60 celcius in my Salamanders tank. Hes curled up and tyring ti bury himself, Im assuming hes too cold. I was wondering if he would benefit from a heated rock cave (since he LOVES his cave) that I could set on low? I NEVER see him curled up and trying to bury himself unless his tank sits at 63 degrees celcius or lower. So I am assuming hes a little uncomfortable.

He also seems a little sluggish, again, assuming hes cold. Having heating trouble with the new house right now. What do we think? Was thinking of grabbing this for him since its got very low, medium, and higher medium heat settings that exude heat downward inside the rock cave but ALSO exudes it UPWARDS outside of the rock cave, effectively keeping the tank itself a little warm. Seems like it miiiight be a little small for him though, my guy is about 7 inches from tip of his nose tothe tip of his tail.
