Tunnels?

I was thinking about using a 2ft long piece of PVC pipe in my tank for my axies to hide in as I dont think their other hiding places get enough darkness, is this too long?

Depends on the length of your tank! We have a 1.5ft long log, only thing you have to ensure is to pick it up occasionally when siphoning! Axolotls love to poo under them and you may not realise and develop a water quality problem if it gets buried within substrate underneath the tunnel.

its a 4ft tank, if cleaning it out is the only draw back then I think I'll put it in

2 foot is a pretty big piece. You'd be better off going with a couple small pieces scattered about the tank.
