wow! those are beautiful. you've made up my mind with these pics and you T. vittatus to go in for just triturus.

For the karelinii, I don't know where they come from. There are young of young of young.... of animals of a friend of mine (I must ask him where came from the first parents). For the first generation of vitattus, I think he told me they come from russia (where exactly ??)

Hello Jean-Pierre,
do you really sure that this spezies is a Triturus karelinii? It looks like a mixture with T. dobrogicus.I have russian T. karelinii (Georgia) and they looks like absolutely different.

Regards
Andreas

Hi Andreas...

it could be very interesting to see regional variations of Triturus karelinii . The karelinii's of Jean Pierre are amazing , had crested of Dobrogicus , how are the caucasian karelinii's? have you any photo?

I am sure of nothing, but i know there are many forms of karelinii. I post photos of a female (sister of the male). you can compares these one with your karelinii from russia (take care, the color of the photo is not exact, there is two much red).

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
