Trimming plastic plants?

Is trimming plastic plants unsafe? a plant i bought was to tall and i needed to trim it,
would this release any unsafe chemicals?
I thought no cause plastic is plastic its not like its got a liquid center or anything...

I've trimmed one of mine without incident - just make sure you don't leave any sharp edges.
