Hey guys,
So I've decided to make a switch from my hang on 20G filter (for a 20G tank) to a canister filter that future proofs me for a larger tank. The canister filter I purchased is rated up to 55G but has an adjustable flow rate and spray bar, so I'm hoping it won't cause too much current in the tank.
My big question is what will be the best way to switch the filters without causing a massive crash?
My current filter has 3 inserts, a sponge, carbon and biomax balls on top..
I haven't yet received my filter, but I believe it to have 2 or 3 trays for customizable biological needs.
Would it be enough to try and add my inserts onto these trays to try and keep some of the bacteria in the system?
Is there maybe another way I could approach this?
Thanks for any input!
