Top Soil mix?

I was going to buy a bag of top soil to mix with coir mix, is there any top soils I should avoid...or things I should look for? When I went to look at them today the bags give very little info...all it said was Top Soil and its good for lawns..etc.

Look out for ones containing "Wetting Agents" and fertilizer. You want neither.

Go organic if you can. Avoid perlite, vermiculite, fertilizers, pesticides, manure, etc. One brand I can recommend is Earth-Gro, but I don't know if that's available in Canada.

Is there something better to mix with the coir then top soil? How about moss?

I prefer topsoil. You can layer with moss, but don't use peat or sphagnum moss.

Thanks, I will find a natural top soil that contains just soil no perlite, vermiculite, fertilizers, pesticides, or manure and mix that with the coir mix.
