To filter or not to filter

Hi everyone, I'm new around here. I'm thinking of getting an axolotl, I've seen them at the lfs and they're so cute!
I keep coming across conflicting information in my research though. Do they need/like filtration? I'm willing and able to water change every day if they didn't have a filter so would this be best for them? It would be best for me for them to not have a filter, but I don't want to put my preferrences above theirs.

it´s better to use a filter, but I know that some people dont use them and just do the water changes, it´s really up to you...

Lucy - water changes will still need to be done whether you have a filter or not. i managed great with no filter and the water quality never got bad but ive just set up a new tank with sand and a filter and im just waiting for it to cycle then my axies will be going in there.

. but it really is upto you what you choose.

I had my first axie for 3 years with no filter.

It was okay but she got messy very quickly, I was always cleaning her out, luckily her tank was quite small.

If your tank is huge then get a filter its just easier in the long run.
