Look how little! I will be separating them. I have 3 and doing a good job so far but any tips would be appreciated. Does it really take 3-7 years for them to become aquatic?

It depends on how well they eat and grow. They could be aquatic in 2 years or less, it depends on a lot of unknown factors.
