Well a few years ago we found a tiger salamander in our window well, he was decent size so we took him in, and he has been living with us for about 3 years now.........he is currently enjoying his very own 32 gallon bow-front tank.
as you may or may not know colorado has been basically under water for almost a week. anyway last night our cats were in the window going crazy...... i look in the window area (a completly underground basement window well) and there is a tiny little roughly 2 1/2" tiger salamander just like my other one. what the heck!! anyway its a purely rocked area, no water source at all, so i was wondering im not sure i want to keep him, but if we do what does a little guy like this eat? our other salamander (named Wellington) is on large crickets, worms from time to time and meal worms here and there. all of those are pretty big to feed this tiny little guy......
and if we dont want to keep him where do i take him to ensure he is safe? the only water supplies within 3 miles of my house are farmers canals which are full or emply depending on the day. how do you suppose he got here? and where can i place him to make sure he will be ok? we have open space behind our house with corn fields behind that if that helps........
my wife wants to keep him, im not sure. he is damn cute!! but im also not sure i should put him in with wellington, because he could easilly swallow this little guy.
help me out, what do i do?
