Hey, ive got a tiger salamander that i found at work and have had him for a month or so, but ive only ever really gotten him to eat 1 worm. ive put plenty others in front of him (or her) but it just seems like he plays with them. maybe hes catching all the escaped ones when they come out at night or something? he doesnt look too skinny so i imagine he must be eating something. do they like something specific to eat other than worms?

Hi there! If you haven't already, your first step should be to read over these two articles. They will give you all the information you need to successfully keep a tiger salamander.

What kind of worms are you feeding him? Are they the common little red ones that baitstores sell as "trout worms" or "red wigglers"? If so, many salamanders refuse to eat them because they secrete a bad tasting slime. Try cut up night crawlers instead. Tigers are voracious feeders, so there must be something going on.

How are you currently keeping him? What size tank is he in, what is his substrate, and what temps are you keeping his tank at?
Answering these questions will really help us help you.
