My husband and I acquired a tiger salamander a month ago. He is 5in and all of sudden wants to he in water. He hasn't eaten today but pigged out yesterday. Is it mating season or is he unhealthy

Our tiger salamander ended up moving out of its water dish and under the log.we have for it. I am.also wondering if because he is only.5in does that mean he is still a baby?

Adult tiger salamanders are usually 6-8 in

When my tigers were young they used to love going into their water bowl and make it absolutely filthy.
