heres a not very clear pic of my tiger salamander in his self dug cave, 5 inches down under the tank substrate.

There is no entrance to this cave, but seeing as he dug it right next to the glass I can see he's ok and wont worry about him.
 
Thats a cool pic...mine do the same thing sometimes where I can see them, other times the setup looks like a ghost town...

Hehe, Morg - So how did he get down there if there is no exit or entrance? Did the entrance self-collapse? He should take a delving course!

I'm starting to like Tigers, they seem to have great character

Nice! Mine has made a self burrow underneath a peice of wood that is very extensive.

    Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
