Hi -
A while back, a friend gave me his "axolotl" because he was no longer able to care for it. Recently, I've come to find that she's a Tiger Salamander (specific breed unknown) and is going through metamorphosis right now. Being an axolotl person, this is pretty new to me, and I'm a little overwhelmed with what I've been reading about handling a morphing Tiger.
Right now, Ash is situated in a 10 gallon tank, filled with two gallons of water, a small platform to climb up on and she's got two goldfish with her. (The goldfish don't bother her.) She's still eating regularly, but is acting a little sluggish.
I know her tank situation isn't so great, so I was wondering what the best set-up would be for a morphing Tiger?

Thanks

you might whant to get rid of the goldfish since they produce alot of wasteand alot of amonia. uless she is eating them which it sounds like she isint. Apart from that sometimes sals can be a little sluggish when they are morphing, how long did youre friend have her before she was given to you?

He bought her at a pet store and had her about a month or so before giving her to me.

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
