Thoughts on plants???

Hi guys, I'm just about to set up a new bigger tank for my axolotl and want to do floating plants....what are your thoughts? How can I avoid getting snails? And which floating plants are best?

I like Duckweed... (At least I think that's what it's called) Hah
Granted it was used for a FireBelly tank, it looks nice. (in my opinion)
I'd do reasurch on it to see if it's something your axolotl will enjoy.
