Thinking of breeding

Hey,
My name is Jorja and I have had an Axi for about a year now. I have two females at the moment. I'm thinking should I get a male and start breeding? what would be a good size tank to do this???

even if you do put a male in there its not a 100% chance that they will breed. i think a 4ft or more size tank will be fine.

What do you plan to do with the offspring (keeping in mind that you may get 1000+ babies) when they hatch?

It is a lot of work. I culled all but one egg from an unexpected batch (Milo hid it from me in a rock crevice, lol) and it happened to be fertile and healthy. Even my one baby keeps me on my toes, keeping a good food supply going that fits its size, making sure the water is 'fresh', etc. Since it's just one baby I have the space for it, but like Joan mentioned, know what you are going to do with all the babies and make sure you have the money and the time before you start on this venture

thanks for the Information. Yes me and my dad have been researching and yes have been think about the eggs. we plan on having to cull a few eggs but mostly sell them to people and our local pet stores.
