hi all my eggs are finally begining to hatch, two are out as ofthis morning.
I have got some brine shrimp on the go too, my question is when do i stat feeding them and what is the best way to set the containers up for the littlies, how many should i keep together?

Usually the larvae start to eat two or three days after hatching - that's when their mouth opens. At this time they should be surrounded by living nauplia, small daphnia or cyclops.

Did you have a look at Johns page already?

To start with you could keep dozens together in the one container - some people use plastic kitchen containers with lids. As they get bigger you will want to separate them out depending on their size into multiple containers. I think Kapo commented recently that plastic 2-litre ice cream containers are ideal.

Feed the brine shrimp to your larvae twice a day and change at least 90% of their water every day. After the larvae have eaten (they dive all over the place chasing the BBS) you could remove excess BBS from the container to reduce contamination in the water. You can tell the larvae have eaten because their tummies will glow orange!

There's lots of info about raising larvae... check out the other postings under this thread.

All the best
