I can't let Mike steal the spotlight with his A. opacum photo's ;)

Note: No Ambystoma annulatum were collected and don't even ask.

Nice pictures, Isaiah! I'm sure there will be many (myself included) that envy your chance to see these animals.

Yep, one of them right here in the form of myself!

Wow! I would love to have a chance like that someday.

Don't be surprised if I show up on your doorstep sometime in the near future, Isaiah!

Very nice Isaiah...apparently you got rain and we didn't. It's still bone-dry here, and the annulatum are nowhere to be seen (don't ask me either).

Great shots Isaiah. What kind of temps and other weather conditions were they in?

Great pics, Isaiah. Very impressing animals. Do the larvae hibernate in the breeding ponds?

It has been in the 50s at night for a week. A cold front had just moved in that night bringing some rain showers. The site was very dry and I confirmed sunday morning that this was all males. No eggs were found at either vernal.

Another awesome post. I was content on settling in for the winter and just waxing my board, but now I'm going to have to get back out!

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
