Well, i made it to new mexico in once peice, and it seems the newts survived the trip with out any adverse affects. I will start posting on a more regular basis again in the next week or two once i get internet at my apartment and everything calms down.
 
Congrats Ira. Be careful of your new water conditions. I learned the hard way during my move to Colorado
 
what kind of problems did you have?

i treated my new water with cl/chloramine and heavymetal stuff, so i think it is ok. the newts seem fine so far.

I'm glad your newts arrived well.
 
Besides chloramine (which we didn't have back in Chicago) I don't know what else they have in the water here. It has a strong blue tint when you fill up a white bucket. I've got e-mails into the water works here to find out what else they add. I found a conditioner that's working for me now, but it wasn't a pleasant start when I got out here.

    Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
