The great Axolotl educational poem competition

Hi there!

Inspired by the "what's your best Axolotl line" topic, I wanted to start a poem competition

Winner will be the one that receives the most 'Likes' on his poem.

Rules are:

- The poem can be short or long, that doesn't matter
- The poem must be educational (so the content must have some significant meaning, and information about Axolotl)
- You can send in as many as you like

I'm thinking to keep it going for a week, so 27-09 is the end date when the likes get counted up ofcourse it will still be wide open after that for more and more entries ^^

Is it a fish? Is it a snake?
It's an amphibian! make no mistake.

Born in Mexico, they came from a lake
Hunted and eaten, now their race is at stake

All together we must save this critter
Take two axies and make a litter

As humans on earth we must take charge
To help this animal recover their scars

Clear the way for this cute pet
With the happiest face you ever met

There once was an axolotl called Blake,
To begin with he came from a lake,
They took him off the bank,
And put him in a tank,
Now theres no wild ones left, too late.

I love you when your skin is mottle
Or white and pink,
Black, Gold and yellow
All are pretty, I think
Ever swimming and mellow

I'll protect you from harm
And all states of alarm
I'll use sand, never gravel
Keep you cool when you travel
I'll change your water each day
Even when you're okay.

I'll feed you with worms,
Or pellets in turns
For babies brine shrimp
Not dead and limp
But alive, alive oh!

Axolotl in a tank?
No, it's no prank.
They need sand you say?
oh, they love to dig and play!

Four legs and gills?
I love their frills...
They need no light?
It's fight or flight...

They need some space?
..and a hiding place!
ooh, and some cover?
Might want friends, or a lover...

Must feed your pal!
something edible ( "al" )...
A wriggly worm?
A good food, long-term...

Can use air to clean?
Use a pump, I mean.
Get a biofoam,
to clean their home...

So now I confide.
