The day has finally come!

I want to send out a huge thank you to Shoegal who sent me two absolutely beautiful axolotls last week. They've been set up in their new home for about a week now and they seem to be settling in really well.

It was an interesting experience getting them over the Canadian-US border (we don't have any A. mexicanum breeders in B.C apparently) but it seems that if you familiarize yourself with the regulations and bring a print-out of the relevant information to show the border guards, it really isn't a problem.

Here's a couple of pictures from their first couple of days (sorry for the quality). I will get more up soon!

It definitely can be done but I don't think many border guards really know all of the regulations about that so it's worth it to do the research before-hand and come prepared.

I forgot to mention their names! The golden one is Ferdinand and the white albino is Squid Vicious!

They look great! I love how they are related but have such different coloring. I think you are really going to enjoy them!

Both. Exporting and Importing CITES II listed animals require more paperwork than non CITES animals.
