The best laid plans....

I have, as suggested, moved the water level up and made the land level smaller in the attempt to lure my little amigos into their aquatic phase.

But they now merely cower in the tiny land section and still seem water shy!!!! What should I do?

Also there are three and two keep together and one is a solitary chap- why is this?

Ed, keep them moist. I have my water level raised so they have to sit in the water, but still keep their head above land (water is a few mm above the land space). Eventually, they'll go into the water when they're ready.

Newts by nature are solitary creatures. They may huddle together because thats the best land area.
