Would it be unhealthy to keep my C. pyrrhogaster youngsters at a stable temperature through the winter instead of letting them cool down like their parents? I was thinking of keeping them at their summer time temp so they keep eating and growing at the rate they have been instead of slowing down for the colder months or is it better to give them a cold, less active period? Thanks in advance for any info

i dont think it would do them harm by letting them be warm and toasty all year :p im sure it would benefit you more than it would do harm they would grow much faster and i think overall its better for them since they are still efts. im keeping my efts warm and stuffing them with food all year so they can grow faster :)

Well, I wouldn't say 'toasty' warm, but I have kept juveniles in the main part of my house in the winter instead of in the basement, where the natural winter coldness brings most of my species to breed in the spring.

Yeah, you don´t need to cool them but don´t keep them too warm either. Room temp is fine. Make sure their diet is excellent to fuel their growth.

Ok, thanks for the input peeps! I think i'll move them to a warmer room.

by warm i ment around 18-19 degress xD i keep them at that temperature all year with all my caudata

Yes, that's what I'm going to do, I thought i'd better ask the question because keeping some animals active and feeding year round instead of letting them hibernate is thought to be harmful to their renal system in the long run.
