I've heard cooler is better for complete development. Any opinions?

Cooler slows them down, but makes very little difference to the hatch rate or health of the larvae in my experience. I had a batch that I split - some indoors (18C) and some outside 10C). The indoor ones hatched ar 12-16 days, outdoor ones at 18-22 days.

My most recent batch were left in a tub floating in the parents tank to protect them from temp fluctuations caused by the central heating, I belive a constant temp is more important than the actual temp when it comes to being 'better' for the developing larvae.
