I like your design. Is the horizontal shelf cemented into place, or is there water over part of it? Was the river premade, or did you make it?

If you get more newts, don't forget to quarantine them. The one you have looks like a nice healthy specimen.

thanx for the kind words.
the shelf is just a piece of hard plastic cut to fit.it sits on top of the bricks, and water does cover it. the top of rocks is usualy the water level so the moss and grass gets a happy medium.the waterfall and creak was part of a kit i got years ago. there is more to the kit but i only use the parts you see.

the grass came with the moss from the back yard. before winter hit i went out and got it. i have had to cut the grass since then. i find that funny, yard work in my aquarium. i mist it with the water from the tank every night, kinda like a morning dew thing.

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
