Is that a tank or have you taken the shots outside? Newts always look better in these kind of setups, it almost as if they belong there

. Very nice.

No Jesper this was a photo setup that I made with assembled moss and ferns (growing on rotten wood) I have from the neighburing woods. I wish I could keep my setups as nice but have not yet found a moss that resist long enough ...

Very beautiful animals, Henk. I did not know you were keeping Taricha.

Well Pin-pin I've kept quite alot of species and these do have a quite amaible look, almost look like they are toy-like. Hey even my wife liked them and in fact she was upset when I gave away my first group (so this is my 2nd group). Aside my Hynobidae & Ambystomatidae (my 2 preferate genera) I keep some other species too ... for instance I still hang on to a group of 26 axolotls & about 14 cynops pyrrhogaster a solitary cynops ensicauda, .... but I keep quite less animals now then before. In the past I had about 160 tanks to take care of. I couldn't do this anymore, now I'm down to about 40

That must have been a lot of work indeed, we're you living on selling offsprings?

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
