Well, if I had any doubts.. my male SURE knows how to do IT. I only hope he knows which of them lot is female.. but I'll trust him on that for now.

They don't need a long intro either, this happened within 10 minutes of them meeting for the first time.
 
keep an eye on the nose rubbing-they can rub a females head raw! now just so you know-they do flirt a lot and sometimes never get any further.
 
I will and I know.. but it's great to see this much love in the air.. well water. It makes for a wonderful distraction from lesson preparations.

i recently bought 2 t.grans to add to my tank with the 2 i bought a year ago. i'm keeping them apart for a while until i have the new ones feeding well etc. once they are in together,i hope to get some similar newt activity going...i'd love to see my colony do a little "nose rubbing' etc.

Congrats Ester! I wish my t. grans would do that. I'm not sure if I have a pair though. I think I've seen both of them trying to amplex each other.

    Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
