Tankmates

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with placing a few applesnails into the aquarium with two fairly small axis.

Would this pose a problem or would it be alright?

I'm not very experienced on lotls, but from what I've been reading is that the best tankmate for an axolotl is another axolotl.
I think they will eat the snail and can get impacted (I know you said large snails and small lotls, but still) I think I also read something about them messing with the slime coat on amphibians?
