What is a good tank size for a single D. tenebrosus? What about a single P. chinesis?

I would keep them in a tank no smaller than a 10 gallon. 20 gallon is better because it will give the animal space to roam around and not feel so contained.

I wouldn't keep a Dicamptodon in anything smaller than a 20 long, but the bigger the better. They get large, and they have a fairly large range in the wild. And with a longer tank, it allows you to recreate their stream habitat.

I've never kept chinensis.

Ok. so I should move my P. chinesis that currenly inhabits a 55 gallon tank in a 10 galon before acquirig a D. tenebrosus, which could go in the 55?

My chinesis rarely moves his territory from a single hidy hole, so I think a 10 would be perfect.

I think that would probably be a good move, at least from the D. tenebrosus point of view.
