Hi

I am seriously considering getting a new tank since I got another axie , one is about 18 cm and about a year old and another is now 9 cm and a few months, but my bigger tank is 80 cm long by 30 wide, I think it may be a little small for them two of them

Anyway, I have this place where I can put a new tank but is only 30 cm wide, would a tank of 1.7 metre by 30 cm wide with 40 cm tall be good for two axies??

Thanks!

erm i don't know too much but I've researched axolotls as I'm hoping to get one and i thought it was 40cm W per axolotl so I think it should be ok.

Yes you are right that tank of yours is a tad small, As for the big tank thats very unusual dimensions but will work, 30cm wide is pretty narrow but I think being 1.7metres long should make up for that! I think it should be big enough for at least 3 maybe even 4 axies but is perfect for your 2 they'll have loads of space! I have a 90cm long, 45cm wide and 40cm tall and its plenty big enough for 2 axies! I think they call these wider tanks breeder tanks, i think? lol

heh yeah, I would like something wider but the space I have it's only 30 cm wide and I don't have much space in my little apartment... so I thought I should make up for it in a longer tank :p

So far my bigger axie is about 18 cm long, so she fits comfortably in the 30 cm wide, I hope the little one stays much the same ...

Another question about sand, I asked around and was told that the construction sand used here in Buenos Aires is taken from the river, would that work for my tank?

thanks for the advice you all!
