Tank size

Hi guys,
i have a five foot tank and im wondering if i could fit 3 axolotls in there? or four as the max.... and does it matter of the size of each axolotl? i saw a VERY small axolotl in the store and i wanted to buy him, im just wondering if my pair of large axolotls could cause him any trouble?

How much is the size difference between your big pair and the small one in your shop?
Three should be okay in a 5ft tank as long as there is plenty of hiding places and places of refuge.
Also I would quarrentine any new axolotl from a store.

the axolotl in the shop is EXTREMELY small, i'd say its still a juvenile, or it could be a dwarf adult............my pair at home is about twice the size of this little guy.....

Hi jockey,

please don´t put them together in the same tank, because the big axies could swallow the little one. The difference in size should´t be more then 20-25%.

yeah it was a miracle i found one on eBay near me, and it was 250 dollars!!! couldn't pass up on that one....
