It's 13 inches by 29 inches. Of course, by the 12 inch rule that would mean I could put 31 salamanders in there! But it does help. I can probably take the additional 2 easily, huh?
The 12-inch rule means one animal per 12 linear inches of tank (assuming the tank is the usual 12 inches front to back)... thus 2.5 tiger sals in a 30-inch 20-long tank! This rule is being cited a lot in the axolotl forum, but I think it's probably a decent rule of thumb for tiger sals too. Two are quite comfortable. You could add a 3rd and they'd be a bit crowded. But personally I wouldn't go for a 4th.
