This is my tank setup now. I just ran to get some real plants for it. I added a bubble wall, and my decorations from the internet are in.

Sorry for the size, as i can't make it bigger cause it won't fit. I don't really understand why though because i see people with images bigger than mine all the time. Can anyone tell me why this happens?

I usually make my pictures this size. once the picture is in the computer, take it into Window's paint and decrease the size to either 30% or 20% depending on how big the image is originally.

I always use Window's paint to decrease my images. It's fast and simple this way.

Look in Paint, under the title bar "Image"

Then go to Stretch/Skew

Decrease both Horizontal and Vertical to the same size, example 30, 30. Then your image will shrink to a good size. Or use 20, 20.

Hope this helps.

If you have a Mac computer, then I really have no idea.

No, it might take longer because if you remember, i just mailed the money yesterday, and it might take 2-3 days to get there and then they will ship it. Im so eager! By the way, you told me the paint way, but if my images are the same size as yours, when i click Preview/Post Message it says the attachment was over 150 Kilobytes so i have to make it smaller until its nearly that size. Do you know why?

Maybe their is something wrong with the site right now. Or it could be something else.

Safe it as a JPEG file. Try the Window's paint method. I am sure it will work. I always do it that way, just make sure you safe it as a JPEG file.

Oh I see about the Axolotl now

i do save it as a jpeg and i have been using the paint method. It still doesn't work, there has to be another explanation.

Jordan - If you want you can email me the original file and I will see what I can do with it.

When I save your picture from here I can't open it. The file is damaged in some way. You may want to try taking a new picture.

I usually modify the image size to 600 x 400 pixels.

i don't know about e-mailing it to you, but i think i know the problem. Does anyone know how to shrink an images size in kilobytes?

I am sure Joan could have answered this for you but seeing as she is not here. You are renaming the file to jpg not saving it as jpg. So what you are posting is really the file in its original format but tagged as jpg. That is why it won't open as a valid jpg file.

Check this version out.

By saying Joan could have answered this I meant more thouroughly with a detailed explanation of what was wrong.

Thanks Jeffrey. That is good to know. When I renamed it to .bmp it opened fine.

so how i would i do this? I still don't understand what you mean Jeff. Could you explain it better? Thanks.

It's a pleasure I cannot often offer advice among such a gathering of knowledgable people. I do use the site pretty regularly though and have gathered much information here that has helped me successfully raise several species, and recently sell on some offspring raised using guidance garnered here.

that didn't answer my question at all, how do you (in detail) do what you did to post the picture?

Open up a photo-editing program (Adobe, JASC, etc) and click "save as" and it should give you the option of the title, and the format (such as jpg, bmp, etc). You have to change the format to .jpg.

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
