Hi

I know Axolotls dont like bright light. but i do remeber reading somewhere on one of the sites that you can have a light on for a few hours of the day.

From memory i think it suggested 40 watt that didnt produce heat.

my tank has two lights attached to the hood. tehy are both 13 watt white light.and dont produce much heat.

would these be okay to have on for a few hours of the day?

i most likey would put both on as it does become quite bright.

any suggestions?

If you have plenty of dark hiding places for your axolotls the light should be OK.

I wouldn't think you would need both tubes on, do you need the lights on for plants, or just for you to view the axies?

I currently don't have any real plants in the tank but I ill be adding some on Wednesday.

I believe the plant will need some light so it will mainly be for the plants.

Maybe for a few hours in the evening if my room is dark and I want to see the my babies
