I have had my tank going since mid feb. I am cycling with my Axolotl in it. I started with daily water changes, took sometime to fix the temp (bought a chiller).
My problem is my readings are still all over the place Nikki and I have been racking our brains to fix the problems as they come up.
At the momet palliachi (axie's name) has in a 70 litre tank:
A chiller set to 18 degrees Celsius
A canister filter with a pouch of something Nikki told me to put in it...(name?)
A hob filter
White aquarium sand
An air pump with air curtain "stone"
A hide
A bridge
A rock decoration
A plant on driftwood
2 rocks that I'm attempting to attach java moss to with hair nets
5 surviver guppies (had about 30+ in the beginning but he has eaten the rest)
Reading were ok for a week or so daily with water changes. Then went to every 2nd day testing water before the changes.
Nitrate was high for a little while but that came down with 36 litre change.
Today nitrite is really high.
What do I do? I'm starting to lose hope for him and his tank.
He is fed earthworms when he eats. He tends to poo every 2nd to 3rd day.
Help please.
Hopefully a photo is attached. This was taken when the 36 litres was out.
I forgot I use stress coat+ when changing water
