I have 6 one-month old hatchlings that are about an inch long with tiny front legs. I am currently keeping them in a shoebox sized container and feeding twice per day with BBS. However, I will be leaving town from Friday at noon til Sunday at 10pm (so about 58 hours) and am wondering what is the best thing to do with them. I see it as three options:

Leave them here and pay a friend to take care of them. This option involves teaching a person how to rinse BBS and such which I'm not sure I trust anyone to do. And I would hate to lose a friend and an axie. For this I was thinking they would just do one large feeding on Saturday and Sunday and I would feed again Sunday night. I would also probably put them in larger containers so my friend wouldn't have to do full water changes.

Second, I've heard of people fridging their lotls for trips before. I don't know if this would be okay with such young babies. I assume I should feed them a bit extra before I leave and keep them in a larger container so the water does not foul as quickly.

Finally, I could probably bring them with me as it is only a 5 hour drive, but this involves bringing their hatchery or tracking down live blackworms in my final location. So if I take them with me would I need to keep the BBS aerated or could I just transport about enough to get through the weekend?

I honestly prefer the second option as it seems the least risky for the lotls so I really just need advice on what you think is best and how I should do it. I know I shouldn't be leaving them in the first place but that is not what is up for discussion on this post. If you have a better idea than the ones above I would love to hear it! Thank you for any input!
