Taiwan hynobiids

How about some discussion of Taiwan sals for a change?

I seem to recall there being three, maybe even four Hynobius species there, including one I find really attractive (Hynobius sonani).

Here's a description of H. sonani:

A few words in Chinese characters didn't come through, so the sentence in question should read:

Their eggs are covered by transparent egg sacs

Tim,
In regards to Hynobius sonani, I made a paludarium based on a picture of a H sonani habitat. I actually browsed through some of the habitat pictures you provided in earlier threads and I worked from there. A little bit of lotic and lentic thrown in the mix I must add. Now all it needs is the right species which could inhabit it

There used to be a Taiwanese student that came on the chat periodically. Haven't seen him in quite a while, though. He gave us the photos that are on CC, and he posted a few times on the forum. You could try to contact him via his forum profile, Tim. Seems like he would have those studies.
