So I have a tendency to come up with outstandingly, tremendously brilliant ideas which it often turns out are only outstandingly brilliant to me and a small group of slightly weird friends.

Please feel honoured to now be included in this group.

I'm in the process of designing (and roping in a (weird) friend to develop) an axolotly/newty 'game' designed for tablets.

It's gonna be either free or verrrry cheap as we're doing it for fun not ££, but I was wondering who on here actually owns a tablet!

you mean one of those cumbersome clay things that the ancients made their cuneiform scratchings on? Nah...I upgraded to pen and paper some time ago... :D

exactly those, yeah. Distributing apps for clay is a right pain, I tell thee.

No tablet for me, but I do love my android smartphone

I can tell ;)

Its really interesting seeing the poll results actually - I work with tablets every day (sat surrounded by HP tablets as we speak) so it's easy to think everyone in the world must have a tablet by now ;)

Pssssttt......I have no idea what this tablet is that you speak of?

Heh!

The likes of the iPad, (and for the sake of being impartial :p) PlayBook, Galaxy Tab, Motorola Xoom etc etc.

:D

I dont have a tablet or an android phone :( most of my money goes on travel exspenses, my kitty, food, and my axies :p

Joys of being a commuting student I suppose! ;)

You should make the game smart phone capable as well. Most games offered for ipad are on iphone as well. I have an iphone and would love to be in on this game as well. Not to mention ipod touch's support the same apps as iphones and androids..

Yeahhhh... I'll do my very best! Maybe a mini version!

Indeed tablets are just plain stupid, what are they? Simply a laptop with a touch screen as a result not requiring a keyboard! Who needs that? NOT ME!

I guess I'm moving up to the age of technology (slowly, and not entirely willingly): I got an iPod touch. It was a gift; I'd never justify spending that kind of money on something so unnecessary. Heck, a lady at work and I were just discussing rotary telephones. Ahh the good ol' days.

I don't even have a mobile phone...

A axolotl game for my ipad would be nice! Even nicer if it was an app that was iphone or smartphone capable. I do spend a decent amount of time using a ipad. Sometimes it being light weight and so slim its easier to carry than a laptop.

I did a search for apps that were animal friendly or amphibian based. There weren't many serious apps but I did get "Pocketfrogs". which is a dart frog breeding game. The greek/latin names are funny, I love it. I also got an app called "Amphibians" which is like a world wide field guide to amphibians. You can also edit it or add comments or locations to certain species. Any apps that are caudate based I'd be interested!

I would love to see a virtual aquarium with different species of newts and aquatic salamanders to choose from. Even a background like such would be super cool! xD

Anyway until then a tablet game would be pretty neat. I would make me feel better about buying my GF a 600 tabby.

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
