The vulgaris was in another pond, it was strange, it was the only one,who was not covert. The pond is only 10 centimetre deep. And because of the cold winter, i took the vulgaris in my aquaterra, he lives with cynops in this terra.
I have no lizard's in my outdoorterra. Today i have only s.s.terrestris in the terra. I'm searching for some Triturus species. In this piles, there are pipes for the winter.

Well, you could come to Gerstfelt and you could get many species there. And lovely t.vulgaris! I am always looking for paedomorphic triturus. You are very lucky to find one and completely white. I had once a genetic paedomorphic t.vulgaris meridionalis breeding group though summer 2003 high temperatures kill them all

. Fortunatelly, I have sort this out with an AC this year.
Best greetings

I heard that male paedomorphic T. vulgaris can't produce spermatophores.

Well, my paedomorphic t.vularis male did a great job with 3 females that produce more than 100 eggs each. By July I had literally hundreds of larvae. Though, those larvae seemed very difficult to keep. All the ones I gave to expert breeders died before the end of summer. I kept two for two years in a refrigerated setup and they also died by a mouth infection as did happened with the adults. Curiously, most of those paedomorphic vulgaris had abnormalities and deformities in their mouth. It is characteristic of this population.

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
