This little guy grew up in the adult tank without any human intervention. There's still a very large larva in the tank I see from time to time. This guy is about 2 inches long. The adults breed pretty uch constantly, so there is always a supplyu of eggs and small larvae for the bigger larvae to eat. This one is now getting waxworms. The tank is very very densely planted, and he spend mpost of his time on one of the mossy corkbark islands, but can climb everywhere on themat of valisineria and peace lilly with only his feet getting wet.

This was also an excuse to try out my new camera...

nice little fella, can we se a pic of the whole tank? it sounds cool

Very nice, Chris. I am also making increasing use of the "raising with parents" method for larvae. Have you considered submitting any of these to the calendar photo contest (General Discussion section)?

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
