Here is a little pic of the 6 magnificent Shanjing I recently acquired.

They are feeding quite well and have settled in nicely now.
Their main food at present is earthworm supplemented with bloodworm and crickets plus the occasional fruit flies.

Hi Andy

Yours look in fine condition. I was lucky to know the right people I suppose. Or is it right time right place?
Mine are all doing well, one is a little shy of eating but eats at least 3 times a week the others vary form 3 to 6 times a week. They have settled nicely and are all showing growth and development.

Hi Jeff, i have one or two that i have to keep an eye on as they don't seem to get as much food as the others. I've noticed this with a few species of morphs i've raised, there always seems to be a couple of runts at the bottom of the pecking order!
Half of mine are looking like proper Shanjing now!

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
