Hi. Ive been thinking of setting up a vivarium for a couple of juvenile marbled newts and I would like to see some setups of marbled newt vivariums.
Thanks, Alex

I have 4 juvies in this set up. There is a little depression under the piece of bark which was intended as a hiding place but they prefer to hide under one of the mosses, usually at least 3 in the same spot. I also have a slightly older newt who lives aquatically. When these 3 are old enough I will probably try to create a 1/2 land 1/2 water vivarium.

No pics on this computer. But mine is a 29 gallon 1/2 false bottom, half regular. 60% is terrestrial with plants, organic soil, coco fiber, and a ton of boiled local leaves and has the false bottom. The other 30% is a sand bottom, with leaves and such. When I built the tank it was to transition them to the aquatic enviornment.

Great little creatures, and exhibit such fascinating behavior terrestrial. Not sure if I will begin to flood the tank this year since they are two, or wait till next yr.
